I'm alive and I haven't posted in x-amount of months...what's new? Ha. Made a trek out to 下北沢 (Shimokitazawa) to take these batch of somewhat blurry photographs. Besides the 30+ weather with 60% humidity I think we did alright, actually they did, I didn't, hence the blurry photographs (you have no idea how bumbed some came out blurry). Anyway this place is definitely a "must go to" for second hand shops, thrift adventures and goofing around with friends. If you're ever around the Odakyu Line defs stop by!

Golden Week adventures with helloworld and Ayane and yes you read that right, Golden Week, almost 2 months ago. I know I'm going to sound like a broken record but I will try try try to update more regularly!

For now enjoy the shoot. It was shot in Fussa, Tokyo. An all-day adventure, hence the different styles of outfits and lighting. The caps are all from helloworld as well.

 

Jewel for LMPSTND

Unarchived some footage and video clips from pretty much a year ago with the ever so cute Jewel Chan. I have so much to show to the world, I'm doing injustice to my friends back home who braved the cold for me to shoot and film these! I'm sorry guys! I love you though! That makes up a bit of it right? :P

Anyway when we shot on this particular day (and I have no idea why we didn't chicken out), it was a nippy -30 (with windchill). Yup, you read that correctly, -30!...well if my memory serves me right. So a big THANK YOU to Jewel for hanging in there and still slaying with her style.

 

I'm ALIVE & Apartment Tour 2016

HI COOL KATS I'M STILL ALIVE and with a video of my current apartment! Now since the last post I made was about 4 months ago... has there been any big news since then?! Well I've decided to move down to Kanagawa and currently am in the midst of looking for a new apartment. Which got me thinking I should make a video tour of my current one before I leave. Hence my apartment tour videoooooo!! 

Now lets get more informative because I bet there are a lot of people wondering what an apartment in Japan looks like, the cost, the process of getting one, etc. Well I'm here to explain as much as I know from my experience and answer all of your questions. This is content heavy so prepare yourself! This will be from what I've experienced so it won't be a minute to minute explanation of everything. Also I've made a mistake with one of the terminology in the video, I live in a 2LDK not a 2DK, or maybe they're the same but on my contract it says it's a 2LDK.

About two weeks ago my sister from another mama and her hubby came to visit from Canada. I had been in dire need of her presence, hugs, and kisses so it was a reunion of tears (only from me) and squealing haha.  We took too many "beauty selfies", trekked Tokyo and hiked Mt. Takao. We also watched the bf's hockey game. Her (talented) hubby took photos of his game and later of her and I twinning...well our dresses were twinning....technically, so close enough. Anyway enjoy the pics!

The last 7 months of my life in squares....

So I've accepted I have hoarding problem with pictures and never share it with the world. My friends have confronted me about this and I'm taking the proper steps to over come it. First step was uploading pictures of gatherings and mini trips onto facebook. I've so far progressed well and in a healthy pace. Second is uploading a mini collage of my life in Japan into this post. It's scattered, not in order and you can't particularly tell what is happening but it is a glimps of what my life has been as of recent.

I'm horrible (what a way to start a post lol). I know I said I'll blog more consistently but I epically failed at that. Life has just been on the go since I moved and ... I love it! I really want to share everything with you all so it's eating me that I haven't. It's summer vacation now and along with my summer plans, I hope I can guide you all through what fantastical (and positively stressful) adventures that may happen. 

For now these are overdue shots for HelloWorld, an up-and-coming brand from Japan. The main focus for the brand, currently, is on snapbacks and t-shirts that have a cali-feel like no other. Copping a piece might be a little difficult as it's word of mouth but holla at yo girl and I'll see what I can do for you ;)

OOTD: KENDRA

From my stash of awesome (well I think so anyway) pics I present Kendra! Decked out in Oak+Fort (no surprise) with Nine West boots and Monki clutch. It was an adventure getting to this location (which is now probably The Bay's HR floor haha), Kendra and I pulled our best Ninja moves and tried to be as quiet and dainty as possible while shooting. It worked out quite well ;)

Salvation Mountain & Salton Sea

This was an impromptu vacay with Mum just a week before I moved to Japan (a much needed one at that). It was a quick weekend trip to LA but we ended up spending most of our time in the desert (I LOVE hot dry weather). It was great to see my relatives before moving and gave me that reassurance I have a "home" somewhere in this world.  The two major purpose of the trip was to have tear jerking moments with the fam and visit Salvation Mountain and Salton sea. Which I can confidently report was accomplished!

OOTD: CHARMANE

Experiencing my first holiday here in Japan and spending it editing photos, eating a bunch of sweets and drinking milk tea. I think I'm doing it right. hehe. Another minor update for you all, I have embarrassingly injured myself and tore a ligament and my meniscus in my left knee....how? I'll leave that to your imagination. Besides my kool friends (who still are my friends regardless how derpy I get) I'd like to keep it on the down-low. So I am crutch bound for another 2 weeks and hopefully after will only need physiotherapy after. For getting to work, it has been great because the company that hired has been driving me to and from, which I am forever grateful since if I had to walk would take about 2 hours (even though it usually take 15 minutes) to get to one school. I don't even want to imagine how long it would take me to get to my other school...

The weather here is becoming more summer like which I'm stoked for, about 27 degrees during the day and I couldn't be any happier. I think I'll post about my teaching experience/moving out for the next post...or the one after depending on what photos and movie clips I edit. For now please enjoy Charmane Dizon! The incredible manger at Oak+Fort located at Chinook Mall in Calgary. If you guys haven't been yet GO GO GO! Their new items are drool worthy and I'm infinitely jelly I can't get any....well at least until I get paid. Haha...

Lately I've been finally get into the swing of things with work and can I say I love it! Teaching to children is incredible. They're so energetic and sweet...just so innocent. I mean of course they still like to fool around here and there but they're great kids who really are taking learning English seriously. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to take pictures of them so I can't show you kats how awesome they are but I will post more details about work sometime. There are still things I need to get use to but I'll save that for another day. Anyway enjoy the pics!!

IM IN JAPAN WUUT

MAH KOOL KATS! I have finally moved and settled in my very own first home in Saitama, Japan. So much has happened these past 22 days. Hectic training, crazy moving adventures and the biggest slap of reality accompanied by the most beautiful scenery I've seen in a long time. So lets get you all updated, I'm officially living in Japan as an ALT teaching English to elementary kids. I have my own place (with TWO floors - I'll post pics once it looks like an actual home and not a hermits cave), got to catch up with my friends from last years adventures and actually that's it. Ha ha, really these past days have just been spent prepping for first day of school and catching up with old pals. 

Last week, however, I did go to Mt. Fuji with my aunty and her friends so I do have something to show you guys ;) Enjoy le pics!

Hello again kool kats! I wanted to show the world how empty my bag is at the moment. Though I gotta say I'm in LOVE with my new Auxiliary bucket bag. It's also my first real leather bag that I've bought on my own. I feel like I'm really taking those first steps into adulthood (how sad). It's been a crazy week with my friends from Japan visiting and work and life being a mean ass...but HAZAA! It was a good type of crazy! I've finally sifted and edited through these photos and have resulted in (hopefully) cool shots. These are long over due (just as those videos you kool kats are waiting for which are COMING...I promise!), but I'd like to introduce you all to Vicki, a lovely lady that is on her way and has the style to keep up with it.
